Three-Putt Poker is a golf golf betting or points game that combines an element of poker with the golfers' performance on the greens. At the beginning of a round of golf, the members of the group ante up the opening bet (say $2 each) and each member is dealt one playing card. On each green of the front nine, any golfer who who takes three putts or more on a hole is required to add to the pot (for a $3 initial bet, a 3-putt can require $1 more to the pot).

A golf game format for teams comprised of four golfers. On each hole of an 18-hole round, the team must decide which two team members' scores will count on each hole. The rotation must be selected before play. At the end of 18 holes, 36 such scores must have been counted, and those 36 scores - or 36 balls - make up the team's final score. This can be played both net and gross. The number of balls counted can change, for instance, on the first hole you record one score, second hole you record two and on the third hole record three.

Unlike stroke play, in which the unit of game scoring is the total number of strokes taken over one or more rounds of golf, match play scoring consists of individual holes won, halved (tie) or lost. On each hole, the most that can be gained is one point. Golfers play as normal, counting the strokes taken on a given hole. The golfer with the lowest score on a given hole receives one point. If the golfers tie, then the hole is halved and no points are awarded. If the match is tied either each player or team receives half a point.

In a Flags tournament, all golfers begin the round with a set number of strokes (related to their handicaps, called flags), and they play until their strokes (flags) run out. The player who makes it farthest on his or her allotment of flags is the winner of the golf game.
